Visits to Culham Centre for Fusion Energy
2018
- 15th – 26th January – The visit was dedicated to tests of the upgraded Gamma Camera in the final installation position.
2017
- 06th – 17th November – The visit was dedicated to our participation in the “Analysis and Modelling Tasks 2017” T17-13 Disruptions and runaways.
- 10th – 14th October – Participation in the “General Planning Meeting”.
- 03rd – 14th July – The visit was dedicated to our participation in the “Analysis and Modelling Tasks” T17-07 DT scenario extrapolation.
- 15th – 26th May – The purpose of the visit was to replace the old CsI detectors with new LaBr3 detectors in the vertical part of the Gamma-ray Cammera as well as conduct preliminary tests.
- 27th March – 7th April – The visit was dedicated to our participation in the “Analysis and Modelling Tasks 2017” T17-13 Disruptions and runaways.
- 13th – 24th March – The purpose of the visit was to replace the old CsI detectors with new LaBr3 detectors in the horizontal part of the Gamma-ray Cammera as well as conduct preliminary tests.
2016
- 10th – 21st October – The visit was dedicated to our participation in the C36 experimental campaign, tasks M15-19 “Mitigation of run‐away with high Z” and M15-24 “Target discharge for TAEs in DTE2 and fast particle physics in all scenarios”.
- 18th – 29th July – The visit was dedicated to our participation in the C37 experimental campaign, tasks H16-06 “ICRH heating schemes in H plasmas” and H16-12 “Three-ion ICRF scenario development”.

2017
- Karlsruhe 24th – 27th October – Participation in the “WPENS 4th Technical Meeting”.
- Frascati 18th – 21st June – Participation in the “DTT Workshop” meeting.
2016
- Frascati 16th – 19th May – In Frascati at the ENEA Frascati Research Center, the scintillators were placed close to the Frascati Neutron Generator (FNG). It is a 14 MeV neutron generator based on the T(d,n)α fusion reaction. FNG produces up to 1011 n/s in steady state or pulse mode. The purpose of this was to check how both setups work under high neutron flux conditions.
- Legnaro 22nd – 25th February – In Legnaro at the Legnaro National Laboratories (LNL), the scintillators were placed in a vacuum chamber with an aluminum target at which a 10 MeV proton beam was directed. The purpose of this was to check how both setups work under high counting rate conditions.
- Milan 16th – 21st February – Instituto di Fisica del Plasma “Piero Caldirola” Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (IFP-CNR). The purpose of the visit was the comparison of two experimental setups and two scintillation crystals. A cerium bromide CeBr3 and a lanthanum bromide LaBr3, and a RC ciruit with a transimpedance amplifier (TIA). In Milan simple measurements with weak calibration sources, and JET-like measurements with LED were made.
